About Us
Do you miss the opportunity to go to Grandpa's
and Grandma's farm? The next best place is Erickson's Petting Zoo of rural Osakis,MN. This 96-year-old farmstead used
to be home to milk cows. Third generation farmers Dave and Pam Erickson, alongwith their family- have converted the big
red barn into a home for a wide variety of farm animals and birds.
Animals
include pygmy goats and their kidds, sheep, minature horses, Sara our llama, potbelly pigs, all kinds of rabbits,
our own cat pen.
Birds include: many varities and colors of chickens,
ducks, geese, pheasants, peacock's, pigeons, and doves.
In 2010, two new area's created. Bunny land in
the barn where kids can hold and pet rabbits. Outside, the "Goat Towers" were built. An extensive systems
of ramps and towers. Goats are natural climbers. With our goat towers- they have plenty of opportunities to climb
and entertain.
We are open seasonally full time. We do have some people come out during the
winter. Just call ahead to set-up a time.
Many families, daycares, school groups and youth
organizations have come to see us. Make plans now to come and visit us. We keep our rates reasonable, so you can
come back often.
We are USDA Licensed, inspected and insured farm.
Animals like to be fed, (we have corn available for a small fee). Please remember that animals have teeth, so need to be careful
with little fingers. When you are finished petting the animals, we have anti-bacterial hand sanitizer to wash your hands with.
New this year is our Bunny Land - special area for the kids to play
and pet the rabbits. Another new area is our "Goat Tower". Goats are natural climbers. With
our goat tower- they have plenty of oppertunities to climb and entertain.
