About Us
Do you miss the opportunity to go to Grandpa's
and Grandma's farm? The next best place is Erickson's Petting Zoo of rural Osakis,MN. This 97-year-old farmstead used
to be home to milk cows. Third generation farmers Dave and Pam Erickson, along with their family- have converted the
big red barn into a home for a wide variety of farm animals and birds.
Animals include pygmy goats and their kidds, sheep, minature horses, Sara our llama, potbelly
pigs, all kinds of rabbits, our own cat pen.
Birds include: many
varities and colors of chickens, ducks, geese, pheasants, peacock's, pigeons, and doves.
In 2011, new goat house
was built. Several other additions and improvments were made to enhance our guests enjoyment here. we fiished
remodeling the party shed. Added a bigger corn box with a tower and slide. Put a gravel / cement base on the ground.
Installed pop and candy machine. redone our playground area and added a big sand pile for the kids to play on.
Fixed up shelter and fencing for another animal viewing area.
Have more projects for 2012, always working to
add new features, for all to enjoy their experience here.
We are open seasonally full time.
We do have some people come out during the winter. Just call ahead to set-up a time.
Many
families, daycares, school groups and youth organizations have come to see us. Make plans now to come and visit us.
We keep our rates reasonable, so you can come back often.
We are
USDA Licensed, inspected and insured farm. Animals like to be fed, (we have corn available for a small fee). Please remember
that animals have teeth, so need to be careful with little fingers. When you are finished petting the animals, we have
anti-bacterial hand sanitizer to wash your hands with.
